During my business career with an international oil and gas company, I was fortunate to work on project teams that included outside consultants from major firms, formerly known as Arthur Andersen and PriceWaterhouse, developing software systems and project management methodology. Before deciding to become a psychologist, I also worked with an independent consulting firm developing training methodology for a major nuclear power company in Texas.
Today, I use systems theories to help change group processes. The benefits to seeing one’s organization as a growing, organic system includes:
* Allowing new information to emerge within the existing group culture as the environment changes.
* Developing skills for conflict resolution and collaborative action.
* Creating an open system supporting team members in dealing with complex information.
In addition, I help organizations foster creativity, a people resource, that each organization must tap in order to grow in these fast paced times.
